A Taste of the Philippines: Inasal Restaurant and Bakery Review

When you are feeling homesick about your mother’s cooking, head over to Inasal Restaurant and Bakery. They offer traditional Filipino dishes that will make you feel right at home.

The first time I entered this store was on a weekday lunchtime. There were not so many people around, which made me feel hesitant about the place because maybe they won’t have what we wanted but then again our craving for Filipino dishes told us otherwise! So after some hesitation, we placed an order.

The service was good(except for the cashier person), and the servers were able to attend to our needs. They were also very patient in explaining some of the dishes on their menu.

We ordered pork adobo (pork marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves, and black peppercorns), Sizzling sisig with Egg ( pig ears, pork belly, onion minced, soy sauce), and halo-halo with ice cream (layered dessert with sweetened beans, mixed preserves on the bottom, shaved ice and condensed milk) for dine-in.

The pork adobo was good but not the taste I was looking for, the vinegar taste is not there it was more like sweet and salty but the meat was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was flavorful without being too salty. The Sizzling Sisig was delicious, it is the legit sisig Filipino style cooking with the hot plate, they also serve us a free bulalo soup and the halo-halo was a refreshing way to end our meal. The ube ice cream on top is not the Filipino version though. Overall, I was very pleased with the food and service, and I will definitely be back to try out another dish.
