This review is not about the third-party booking site; it is a critical warning about the appalling service and brazen scam tactics employed by the management at Azure Staycation by Sibs in Parañaque. My recent attempt at a staycation turned into a complete nightmare that ended in us abandoning the booking entirely.
The issues began immediately upon arrival. Despite receiving an email confirming an 11:00 AM check-in, we were told upon arriving at 2:00 PM that we would have to wait until 3:00 PM. While frustrating, we accepted the delay. However, the real ordeal began when we approached the desk. The representative flat-out refused to honor our confirmed, pre-paid reservation, claiming that the weekend rate was different and that the price booked via the travel platform was invalid. They demanded an exorbitant, on-the-spot cash payment of P4,000 per night just to check in.
They then had the audacity to instruct us to cancel our non-refundable booking ourselves, forcing us to call several numbers in a bid to resolve their incompetence. After repeated debates and outright refusal to check us in, it became clear this was not a misunderstanding but a calculated attempt at extortion. After reviewing countless negative Google reviews detailing this exact same “bait and switch” tactic, I am convinced this is a common scam, particularly targeted at foreigners. We chose to abandon the stay rather than be victims of their fraudulent practices and ridiculous last-minute pricing.
Furthermore, this location, despite being near the airport in Parañaque, presents a massive transportation challenge. We spent nearly 40 minutes struggling to secure a Grab, wasting precious time we could have spent enjoying our holiday elsewhere.
I urge every potential traveler to be united and boycott Azure Staycation by Sibs. They are not authentic, and they will hold your confirmed booking hostage for cash. Save your time, save your money, and save yourself the immense hassle by booking anywhere but here.
